Every state has unique circumstances related to Medicaid and insurance. BiosWork provides employment support to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (ID/DD) in Oklahoma and Tennessee through Home and Community-Based Medicaid waivers.
Who We Work With
The Developmental Disabilities Services (DDS, Oklahoma) and Department of Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities (DIDD, Tennessee) provide eligibility determination, waiver funds authorizations and program oversight. These are state and federal partnerships. Your DDS case manager or DIDD independent support coordinator can assist with determining eligibility for funding for employment services on the “waiver.”
Case Managers & Support Coordinators
Once your loved one has been approved for employment support on a Medicaid waiver, you will work with your case manager or support coordinator to select Bios as your vocational provider. Bios will then become a member of your loved one’s interdisciplinary team or circle of support where we will work with your loved one, you and other team members to design and provide the supports your loved one needs to get a job in the community.
Approval & Authorization
The case manager, support coordinator or ISC submits a recommended plan to the state for approval and authorization.
When Bios is approved as a provider, we will receive notification of the services we are authorized to provide and we will provide all authorized services as prescribed in the individualized (support) plan. From that point, we bill the state directly for the services we provide.
